"How important is quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) in the earth observation (EO) sector?" Nowadays, tons of maps have become available through the internet, often free of charge. These data sets are often used for decision making without considering their limitations in missing accuracy and quality information. On the other hand, sometimes existing data is not used, because necessary metadata is not available.
