Trading Across Borders Indicator - What it measures, Why it matters, What are the results, and good practices?

The Trading Across Borders indicator of the Doing Business Report records the time and cost associated with the logistical process of exporting and importing goods. The indicator measures the time and cost (excluding tariffs) associated with three sets of procedures—documentary compliance, border compliance and domestic transport—within the overall process of exporting or importing a shipment of goods. This webinar will drill down on how exactly this indicator is measured, why is it relevant, data on Trading Across Borders, and what are the international good practices.

About the Presenters

Inés Zabalbeita Múgica

Inés Zabalbeita Múgica joined the Doing Business team in March 2014 to work on the Trading across Borders indicator. She leads the Trading Across Borders indicator. Prior to joining the team, she worked in private sector development at the Investment Climate Advisory Services Department of the World Bank Group and at the Economic Office of the Spanish Embassy in the United States. Ms. Zabalbeita Múgica holds an MBA from the International University Menéndez Pelayo and a Licentiate Degree in Business Management from the University of the Basque Country and the Catholic University of Leuven. She speaks Spanish. She is currently based in Santiago, Chile.
