Mobile telecommunication is bringing vital connectivity to many parts of Africa, but access to these services is severely limited, particularly in rural areas. With the help of IFC financing, two mobile network companies that operate in several of Africa’s fragile and post-conflict states were able to increase their geographic coverage and provide much-needed telecommunication services to more people in five African countries. This SmartLesson shares lessons learned through providing financing to those two operators.
