Tackling Undernutrition in Sri Lanka's Plantations

In Sri Lanka, undernutrition among mothers and children under-five, especially those living on plantations, is all too prevalent. Anemia is widespread among pregnant mothers and 36 percent of young children are either too short or underweight for their age. While progress has been made in improving overall health and socio-economic indicators in plantations, a new report recommends a more strategic approach to ensure mothers and their children get the nutrition they need to live healthy lives and realize their potential.

So much to do. With support from WB, tremendous improvement has been achieved. The questions are how to make the society self sufficient in the future without support from WB and the donors ?
