About the Presenters

H.E. Dr. Aisha Bin Bishr

H.E. Dr Aisha Bint Butti Bin Bishr is the Director General of the Smart Dubai Office, the government entity charged with overseeing Dubai's city-wide smart transformation, and coordinating public and private-sector efforts to make Dubai a benchmark for smart cities around the world. Before assuming her current position, Dr Aisha served as Assistant Director General of the Executive Office of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The Executive Office is in charge of implementing H.H. Sheikh Mohammed's vision to place Dubai at the fore of smart development on a global scale, and to establish the emirate as an international hub for the future industry. During her tenure at the Executive Office, Dr Aisha was tapped to lead the Smart Dubai taskforce team from the time the Smart Dubai initiative was announced in March 2014, till the formation of the Smart Dubai Office. H.E. represents Smart Dubai in conferences and events around the world, including City Protocol Society, Smart City Expo World Congress, and GSMA, among others.

Elsewhere, Dr Aisha worked in the Ministry of Labour as an Assistant Undersecretary for Support Services, in charge of strategic management, partnership development, and change management policies. With more than 20 years of experience in ICT development in the public sector, H.E. possesses extensive analytical, coordination, communication, and advocacy skills.

Zeina El Kaissi, Head of Emerging Technology & Global Partnerships

Zeina has over 10 years experience in Emirate and city-wide strategic planning in areas such as education, transport, economic development, health and infrastructure. In additon, her expertise lies in economic and business policy development and advocacy and technology entrepreneurship, particulalrly through setting up and operating her own technology venture. Her current role entails managing the city-wide implementation of emerging technologies such as blockchain, identifying opportunities for business growth and monetization of smart city initiatives, and establishing global partnerships with leading public and private counterpa
