Protecting Minority Investors Indicator - What it measures, Why it matters, What are the results, and good practices?

The protecting minority investors indicators measures the strength of minority shareholder protections against misuse of corporate assets by directors for their personal gain as well as shareholder rights, governance safeguards and corporate transparency requirements that reduce the risk of abuse. The most recent round of data collection for the project was completed in May 2018.

About the Presenters

Herve Kaddoura

Hervé Kaddoura joined the Doing Business team in July 2010 and leads the Protecting Investors indicator. Prior to joining the World Bank Group, he worked for the Legal Department of the International Monetary Fund. Mr. Kaddoura holds a Master's degree in International and European Law and a Master of Laws degree in Securities and Financial Regulation from Georgetown University Law Center. He speaks French, Spanish and Arabic.
