"Forced displacement situations tend to be fluid and heavily influenced by geopolitics, thus requiring multi-sectoral response in a context often suffering from weak capacity."

To respond to the recent waves of forced displacement in Afghanistan, the World Bank has been working with the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan (GoIRA) and several humanitarian and development actors on strategic policy, developmental responses and data partnerships. These activities have been instrumental in easing the burden shouldered by humanitarian actors, as well as informing new policies, programs and investments that support a longer-term horizon when responding to displacement.
