Behavioral science can also be an incredibly important tool for policymakers themselves.
Varun Gauri, eMBeD's co-chair, described research done with both World Bank and DFID staff that demonstrates that even those well-trained in development policy fall prey to the same intrinsic biases that policy makers are working to correct in the policy design process. The studies provide useful insights into the way policymakers approach both clients and programs to reduce biases and increase programmatic effectiveness.
