A new paradigm in water resource management is introduced through Evapo-Transpiration (ET). This indicator manages water consumption (or demand) in addition to evaluating and monitoring the effectiveness of agricultural water investments. Investment projects that take ET reduction into account achieve greater water savings than the conventional approaches by investing in increasing water use efficiencies.
An “ET quota” approach can aid development projects and regions to improve agricultural productivity, water productivity, while at the same time ensuring sustainable water use. This video showcases both the concept and application of Evapo-Transpiration.
