The Innovations in Watershed Management live learning event will provide those registered with a range of opportunities to learn about watershed management planning and prioritization using nature-based watershed management practices to reduce erosion and sedimentation. Positively addressing erosion and sedimentation can bring social, environmental, and economic benefits to multiple sectors and can increase the climate resilience of people and infrastructure. Watersheds are an effective scale at which to manage erosion and sedimentation given the interconnected nature of these processes across upstream and downstream areas of watershed. This e-learning event will cover the benefits of implementing nature-based watershed management practices (e.g., slope correction with terracing, planting cover crops) that reduce erosion and sedimentation and benefit soils, water supply, and different economic sectors across a watershed.
