This episode will walk you through the consequences of warmer temperatures specifically on sea level rise. Professor Rahmstorf will explain how sea level-rise may occur under different levels of warming and how sea level-rise, coupled with storm surges and tropical cyclones, can have devastating impacts on coastal systems. The episode will help illustrate how these impacts vary per region and how they differ under different levels of warming. One of the key messages of the episode is that by 2100 we may see a sea level-rise by 0.5 to 1 meter with even higher levels possible for high warming scenarios. This will affect coastal cities and coastal communities worldwide.
