With an active portfolio of $2 billion in healthcare companies in emerging markets, IFC advances the adoption of best practices and innovative technologies in pursuit of quality healthcare. In light of its commitment, IFC has created a training series for medical professionals on International Patient Safety Goals (IPSG) and other healthcare quality issues. The free training is an integral part of IFC’s IQ-Healthcare program, in which more than 50 hospitals and clinics in nearly 20 countries have participated.
The e-course covers the basics of patient safety, with each module taking about an hour to complete:
Identify Patients Correctly
Effective Communication
High-Alert Medications
Safe Surgery
Hand Hygiene
Fall Prevention
Isolation Program
Progress is measured through interactive questions. Participant gets access to ready-to-use tools, forms, and action planning tips provided throughout the training. A certificate is provided for each completed course.
The training series is ideal for implementation across healthcare institutions to ensure the core competencies of patient safety are met, including by quality managers, medical staff, and students.
