"A steep learning curve lies ahead for tertiary education institutions as they seek to expand their digital content"
Some two hundred million higher education students in 188 countries have been impacted by campus closures caused by the COVID-19 pandemic over the past year, representing 89 percent of total enrolments. This unprecedented disruption of the educational experience is forcing universities to take bold steps in digital education, while also putting their longstanding business models under severe strain.
A steep learning curve lies ahead for tertiary education institutions as they seek to expand their digital content. In addition, there is a real risk of a digital divide opening, where better-resourced universities can make the necessary leap forward, but others get left behind. To support universities in emerging markets as they develop, implement and finance digital offerings, IFC, in partnership with Deloitte Consulting, has developed the Digital For Tertiary Education Program—or D4TEP—and is piloting it with four universities.
To discuss the program and the broader issue, IFC’s Education team invites you to a webinar bringing together two universities participating in the pilots, a representative of the online program management sector, and our D4TEP partner, Deloitte Consulting.
