The amount of digital data is not only growing in the developed world - the developing world is also experiencing rapid growth in data creation. Analyzing, identifying, quantifying, monitoring and understanding this data requires a completely new approach. This workshop, delivered by Digital Globe in collaboration with GOST, will open with a primer on machine learning. It will then explore and demonstrate the benefits of utilizing artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning and satellite imagery to address pressing issues in Global Development. This session will demonstrate how DigitalGlobe is using its Geospatial Big Data Platform (GBDX) to build bridges between data science expertise, data providers and development sector practitioners - helping to catalyze adoption of the use of new digital data sources and analytics into institutional practice. It will also touch on the World Bank / Digital Globe partnership, and how staff may be able to make use of these capabilities in their own projects.
