Climate Change Impacts in Bangladesh

Bangladesh is among the most vulnerable countries to climate change impacts. Almost every year the country suffers from major natural calamities which take a big toll on the local people. With help from local NGOs they have found innovative solutions. In drought-prone regions, the sufferers have learned to produce vermi compost to make the ground fertile again which has increased their harvest. People in the flood affected regions have learned to raise plinths in clusters which provide safety from floods. They don’t have to relocate frequently anymore they have started cultivating vegetables and rearing goats on the elevated land.

The video is very informative and interesting. It depicts the hardship faced by the Bangladesh people due to the problems of drought, floods and salinity. It has also shown the engagement of NGOs for development and augmentation of income.
