In Uganda, farmer-led irrigation holds the potential to transform food security and livelihoods, but as climate change poses an ever-increasing threat, the majority of the country's farmers continue to rely on rain-fed agriculture. The Government of Uganda worked with the World Bank to find out why more farmers aren’t developing their own irrigation solutions and to propose interventions that can create a more enabling environment. The result is Uganda’s Micro-Scale Irrigation Program, launched in 2020 to support and empower farmers across the country. Watch the video to learn more!
