Africa’s growing population of young people is an economic resource that could bring positive change to the continent’s economic future. African countries are experiencing what is known as the demographic transition; in countries where the working population outnumbers the number of children and elderly, economic resources could be freed up as the labor force grows faster than the population that is dependent on it, resulting in accelerated economic growth.
