"Covering Korea’s efforts to ensure learning continuity, provide infrastructure support to universities, and introduce new policies and regulations to support students and institutions through the pandemic."
BBL Date - July 22, 2020
Universities and governments around the world have been grappling with the response to COVID-19, including virtual delivery of courses, assessment of online learning, and forming guidelines for reopening. This webinar spotlights Korea’s experience in supporting its higher education system during the COVID-19 crisis and brings together experts to discuss early lessons that have emerged and the implications for other countries, including in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). Focusing on the work of the Korea Education and Research Information Service (KERIS), the discussions will cover Korea’s efforts to ensure learning continuity, provide infrastructure support to universities, and introduce new policies and regulations to support students and institutions through the pandemic.
The event is jointly organized by the Korea office, KERIS, and the Partnership for skills in Applied Sciences, Engineering and Technology (PASET) in collaboration with the Education GP. PASET is a unique, pan-African initiative that was launched in 2013 by African governments with facilitation by the World Bank to strengthen the technical and scientific capacity of Sub-Saharan Africa. KERIS is a public institution under the Ministry of Education of Korea mandated to promote various projects and academic research related to ICT in Education.
